I sincerely hope not. (And since when does regularly drinking water cancel out a nicotine habit?? I don't mean to be rude, but I'm starting to wonder what Mr. Kinsley is smoking.)

I would say smoking being cool is probably less bad then inordinate condemnation of what is after all, a venial at worst.

Well, you have to remember, smokers who drink water have much longer lifespans than smokers who don't...

There is something distasteful about making "lifespans" an issue of public morals in any case. The idea makes timidity a virtue.
